The 5 Best Firewood Racks:
1. Woodhaven 8 Foot Firewood Rack & Cover – Best Overall
The Woodhaven 8 Foot Firewood Rack + Cover is the best firewood rack on the market today. It’s one of the sturdiest models you can find anywhere, and it’s arc welded in critical areas so that you won’t ever have to worry about it failing under the weight of the wood. It also comes with stainless steel hardware. That’s a big deal because those steel parts are very strong, and since they’re stainless steel, they’ll greatly resist corrosion, which extends the life of this rack. It also comes with a great cover that covers the top two or three layers of wood. That allows air and sunlight to circulate in the lower sections, preventing mold growth, but keeping the top layers dry for immediate use.
This firewood rack is also very easy to assemble. In a world full of bad directions and parts that don’t always fit together correctly, it’s refreshing to find a product that excels in both areas. We do have to take points off for this model advertising itself as holding half a cord. Most users report that it holds closer to a third. Overall, this is a great model for those looking for a frustration-free experience.
2. Panacea Deluxe Outdoor Firewood Rack
The Panacea 15203 Deluxe Outdoor Firewood Rack is another great firewood rack and will work well for those who need a smaller rack, or who are looking for something less expensive than our top model. This model is one of the fastest to assemble that you’ll be able to find on the market. In fact, it’s so easy that many users don’t feel the need to use the instructions, though as with all products, we encourage you to follow the instructions when you build yours. It’s also four feet wide and four feet wall, which gives it an impressive capacity without having a huge footprint, which is great if you’re looking for a rack you can use indoors.
The great thing about this model is that it looks good enough to be used as an indoor model, but its steel frame is also powder-treated so that you can use it outdoors. Unfortunately, this model can’t take first place because it suffers from quality control issues. Some units ship with malformed pieces that don’t fit together correctly, which is a pain to deal with. Overall, this is a great firewood rack, especially if you’re looking for a model to use indoors.
3. Landmann 8-Foot Firewood Log Rack – Best Value
The Landmann 82433 8-Foot Firewood Log Rack is just about everything you could hope for in a firewood rack. It comes with about as much capacity as you could get with a single rack, as it is eight feet long and four feet tall. Pretty much the only way you’ll get more capacity is if you take the time to build your own. However, given the price on this model, there’s no way that you could build your own for less. This model consequently earns the title of best for the money on our list, since it packs great quality into an inexpensive package.
It also includes an adjustable cover, which can be closed when it rains or snows, and opened to promote circulation and take advantage of the sunshine. This is another model that most people will find to be easy to assemble, making it good for people who don’t consider themselves to be very handy. The only downside to this model is that it suffers from issues with the cover tearing. If it had a sturdier cover, we’d be happy to rank it higher on our list. As is, it’s still the best value for the money.
4. AMAGABELI 4ft Outdoor Firewood-Rack
The AMAGABELI GARDEN 4ft Outdoor Firewood-Rack does several things correctly, but it does others poorly enough that it will make people wonder if they’re getting good value for their money. First, this model is compact. It’s four feet long, and four tall, so you get a lot of log storage capacity without the rack taking up that much floor space. It’s also very easy to assemble and can be done in less than twenty minutes by most users. Even better, it comes with a one-year warranty, which is always something which you like to see on any product, as it’s a sign that the manufacturer cares about your satisfaction.
However, it has some serious problems. The fixtures start to rust quickly if the rack is used outside. Some users report that this problem started in as little as six months, which isn’t very long at all. This rack isn’t the best made, and many people have real concerns that it won’t last more than a few years before it breaks. It’s not the most-expensive firewood rack on the market, but ultimately you can spend about the same amount of money and get a better firewood rack.
5. Goplus Firewood Log Rack
The Goplus Firewood Log Rack is arguably the best-looking firewood rack on our list. The end supports each feature a decorative fleur-de-lis, so if you want to add a touch of class to your firewood storage, it would be hard to go wrong with this model. It’s also a miniature rack, which makes it great for indoor use, as you’ll be able to hold enough wood for a fire or two. However, it won’t take up too much valuable indoor space. The steel is powder-coated, so it’s good for indoor and outdoor use, as the coating will help prevent rust.
However, this model suffers from quality control issues. Pieces sometimes arrive from the factory bent, which makes assembly difficult. Other times, they arrive with the powder coating damaged. That greatly reduces this rack’s resistance to corrosion. Even when all parts are made correctly, it’s not the easiest model to assemble and takes up more time than it should. Overall, this isn’t a terrible rack, but it’s not one that most people will get good use out of. While it’s cheaper than large racks, it’s not much less expensive, which makes it bad overall value for the money.
The Woodhaven 8 Foot Firewood Rack + Cover is our favorite model due to its great stainless steel hardware, exceptional cover, and arc welding in critical areas. The Panacea 15203 Deluxe Outdoor Firewood Rack is another great firewood rack that assembles quickly, and is compact, and has a low price, though its quality control issues keep it out of first place. The Landmann 82433 8-Foot Firewood Log Rack has a great capacity, includes an adjustable cover, and comes at a great price, making it the best overall value for the money. In fourth is the AMAGABELI GARDEN 4ft Outdoor Firewood-Rack which is compact and easily assembled but suffers from rust and durability problems. The Goplus Firewood Log Rack looks great, and is great for indoor use, but has quality control issues and difficult assembly that make it a poor choice for most people.
We hope that our reviews have helped you understand firewood racks inside and out. Armed with that information, you should be able to find the rack that’s right for you at a price you’ll love.
