Hults Bruk vs Gränsfors Bruk Axe: Which is Better?

Hults Bruk vs Gränsfors Bruk Axe

Hults Bruk and Gränsfors Bruk are both known for making quality axes. They do have some differences, though. Is one better than the other? Let’s compare the two side-by-side and see.

Hults Bruk Axes

Hults Bruk is the older of the two companies and has been making axes longer. People always say that practice makes perfect, so does being in the axe business the longest automatically make it the best?

Every Hults Bruk axe is power hammered to the perfect blade density for the best durability. The steel of the head is tempered to give it a sharp cutting edge and to help keep the sharpness for a longer time between sharpenings. These blades are built tough so that they can withstand being sharpened multiple times without affecting the quality of the blade.

All these axes are attached to premium American hickory wooden handles. Since different kinds of axes are used for different things, they may be held differently during use. Hults Bruk knows how they should be held for each distinct job; therefore, each handle is shaped to accomplish a specific task.

Once the head and the handle have both been crafted to perfection, each finished head is hand-fitted to its handle, and then protected by a custom leather sheath.

Hults Bruk is known for having well-balanced axes, made out of high-quality material. It has two categories of axes: standard and premium.

The standard line axes, though very nice, are not built with the same quality of materials as the premium line. The premium line has the axes that are comparable to Gransfors Bruk axes. The standard line is what you will see in most homes, while the premium line is what most professionals have.

Gränsfors Bruk Axes

Gränsfors Bruk is the best-known brand of axes in the world today and the one that most professionals use. Every axe it makes is forged into a curved bit that cuts into fresh green wood and across the grain as a hot knife cuts through butter.

Gränsfors Bruk uses only the highest quality materials available. It only needs one line because all of its axes are made with the professional in mind. The heavy steel that makes up the head of the axe will have a longer lifespan and is designed to hold a sharp edge better than any other axe on the market.

Like Hults Bruk, Gränsfors Bruk shapes each of its handles to the specific job that a particular axe is made for. They are made out of American hickory wood to provide the ultimate strength.

Both companies have axes that are ideal for felling trees, or just removing their limbs.

Let’s compare Hults Bruk’s Premium Felling Axe and the Gränsfors Bruk American Felling Axe side-by-side to see the differences.
